Revisiting London

Despite my proximity and despite my frequent trips to London, I haven't done much sightseeing or experienced many of the typical tourists stops. Most of this stems from my "I'll do it next time" mentality, but as term wanes, I've realized that I'm running out of next times (cue: sobbing). So when my friend came to visit from the States, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for some catch-up. Stops included the Tate Modern, Shakespeare's Globe (how, how, HOW have I not been here before? I nearly had a fangirl moment outside!), the Museum of London, Sir John Soane's House (sadly, no pics allowed), Kipferl, YumChaa, Borough Market, and general London goodness. Enjoy a little photo diary of my two day trips!

  1. Great pics! I've never been to London and would love to go, but can hardly attest to what I'd like to see most. What interests me about your post though is your comment that you haven't done much sightseeing despite living in the area for a while. Though it's not quite the same, every time I move to a new state I always have these plans to see everything; yet, six months to a year later, I'll realize I've done virtually no sight seeing at all! (i.e. I lived in Seattle and never went to the Space Needle; I lived in the Chicago area most of my life and never went inside the Sears Tower). This seems to be the case for a lot of people. It seems like when we live somewhere, we just take our surroundings for granted, and like you said, assume these beautiful things will be at our disposal, to view whenever we end up getting around to it.
