Sorry I'm posting this on Saturday. It's been a busy week. Thursday, especially, was busy since I had my last exam that day, three classes, a project meeting, violin lessons, packing for Ireland, and a trip back home. So, it was an awesome and awkward week, but I'm telling you about it now...a few days later...deal with it.
Want to know where I learned to be so awkward and awesome? From this girl right here. This is my sister. She embodies both awkwardness and awesomeness and over the years it has rubbed off on me. Thanks, big sis!
AWKWARD
*The word "awkward." I think I've misspelled it every time since I started this blog.
*Going into the Fossil store. First of all, I look at one watch and the salesman is at my side, opening the cabinet, and letting me try it on. Have you ever heard of window shopping, sir? Did I ask to try it on? Then I try it on to be nice and he tells me I'm putting it on wrong. It's a watch! The face is right side up. What else is there to know about putting it on? I didn't say this, though, so then he just stared at me for a bit. Then my sister came over and in her awkward and awesome way said, "That is ugly as hell." I think the salesman wanted to rib our heads off.
*Falling down that damn snowy hill outside of my apartment. I need to stop wearing shoes with no tread. Thank the Lord no one else was around (again).
*Not being able to understand my violin teacher's Russian accent. There are four violin strings: G, D, A, and E. G, D, and E all sound exactly the same when you have a Russian accent. This causes a few difficulties and embarrassments for poor Americans.
AWESOME
*I leave for Ireland today! (Okay, I know that didn't happen between the last two Thursdays, but I'm soooo excited!)
*My new sunglasses from Forever 21 which were only $5! (see above photo)
*Acing all of my exams and papers from the past few weeks! Hard work totally pays off.
*Rootbeer from St. Francis Brewery. Mmmm...can't beat the real stuff.
*A Star Called Henry. Awesome book. Read it.
*The sun finally coming out. Well, sort of. I'm being optimistic. Hopefully in a few weeks the snow will be gone.
*Did I mention I'm going to Ireland today? :)

What a shame...
Me: Ooo...cookies. What kind?
Jocelyn: Chocolate chip...
Me: Ooo...
Jocelyn:...and butterscotch chip...
Me: OOO...
Jocelyn:...and raisin.
Me: Raisin? Why would you ruin a perfectly good cookie with raisins?
Jocelyn: Anna told me to put them in. She loves raisins.
Me: Anna has a gluten allergy. She can't even eat the cookies!

It's Awkward and Awesome Thursday!
034/365: Twins? (March 3, 2011)
AWKWARD
-Constantly rubbing my eyes because of my contacts and people thinking I’m crying.
-Saying “Hi!” to people in the hallway and they just walk right past me. Then mumbling half to myself and half to the other people walking nearby who saw the interaction: “Must not have heard me…” so that I don’t look like a weirdo. Even though I do.
-Forgetting to wear deodorant. Good thing I don’t exert myself attending lectures.
-Reaching for the door just when someone on the other side swings it open and thus getting hit really hard in the shoulder and stumbling backwards like a crazy person.
-Liquid eyeliner. And a shaky hand.
-Spilling milk all over the stove and not being able to clean it up because I thought the burners didn’t come off. Then having my roommate come up to me and ask, “Um…Deanie…did you happen to spill milk on the stove?” Me: “Yeah, sorry, I tried cleaning it up but the burners don’t come off.” Rommie: “Um….actually, they do. You just pull them up, like this.” And then she proceeds to easily pull them off. Oh. Oops.
-Completely wiping out whilst trying to walk up a slippery snowy hillside. Basically stepping up to my knee in snow, throwing out my arm to catch myself and sinking up to my elbow in snow, and getting a ton of snow in my bag so my books get all wet. Thank God no one was watching (unless some creepers were by their apartment windows).
AWESOME
-Writing a kick-ass research paper on zombies. It was so kick-ass that it was 12 pages instead of the required 5-7.
-Winning the Oscar bid at my school (17/24 guesses right!) and winning a book of my choice! I picked The Black Tower by Louis Bayard.
-Watching Firefly with Vinnie (4th time for me; 1st time for him).
-Lemonade Girl Scout Cookies
-Being able to take twin-esque pictures on my Mac (see above).
-TheSixtyOne. If you haven’t discovered this website yet, do yourself a favor and check it out.
-The show Raising Hope and pretty much everyone on it, especially Garret Dillahunt. Also, allowing myself to watch three episodes of it in a row instead of doing homework.
-Loving the two novels I have to read for class: Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte and A Star Called Henry by Roddy Doyle.
-Having family visit me last weekend! Love seeing my aunt and uncle, Josie and Ron!
-Going to Ireland NEXT WEEKEND!
365 Fun!
