Awkward and Awesome!

You may have noticed I missed A&A last week.  Believe me, I was just as upset as you were.  By the time I got access to the internet, it was Saturday and that seemed much too late.  Alas.  This week is a little blah mostly because taking a week off of A&A almost made me forget I wanted to do one this week, so I had to scour my memory for A&A moments.

Awkward
  • In my photo for the Titus post and the Letter post, I’m posing with paper in the exact same manner.  That must be my official I’m-holding-out-a-piece-of-important-paper-I-want-you-to-focus-on-instead-of-me pose.
  • Dying my hair.  Then finding splotches of dye on my arms and legs.  And then not knowing if they’re drips of hair dye or bruises.  Because I am clumsy on multiple levels.
  • A bouncer at a bar giving me a birthday hug.  And he was sweaty.  Ew.
  • When I’m in public and I answer my phone and say “Hello” or “Hey” or something and someone nearby thinks I’m talking to them and they say “Hello” or “Hey” back and then they realize I wasn’t talking to them.  I suppose this isn’t as awkward as when I’m the one responding to someone saying hello into their phone.  But been there done that.
Awesome
  • Margaritas at El Fuego. Yum Yum.
  • Discovering StumbleUpon and Wanelo online.  It’s rather embarrassing how addicted to them I am, but I also remember being super addicted to the Flair App on Facebook (this should probably go into the “Awkward” section) so it’s probably just a phase that will pass.
  • All the free drinks (and swag—I got two free mugs!) bars give out on your birthday.  This is my second awesome post about alcohol, which probably makes me seem like an alcoholic, but it was my birthday week so that’s my excuse.
  • Going to Sala Da Pranzo tonight for dinner.  Mmmm… Chicken limone with lemon and capers.  Fresh salad with basalmic vinagrette.  Homemade pasta cu sugo.  Perhaps a glass of red wine (oh dear…three mentions now…).
  • Ann Patchett telling me my blue shirt was a good color on me.  Oh. My. Gosh.  *dies of nerdy happiness*
Foul as hell.  My face (and hair), not the rat.
I like the rat.

A note of interest (or maybe not): There have been some other topics I’ve wanted to post about including but not limited to the Milwaukee Public Museum, what I’m reading this summer, Cambridge plans, and my new hair color.  Obviously some of these posts will be more interesting than others.  However, I’m really bad about consistently posting on topics I want to post on [much like journaling or scrapbooking], so if you’re super interested in any of these topics, post a comment below.  And if you’re so interested that you want me to blog about ALL of them, then you should probably make an official account and officially follow my blog.  And then probably tell potentially interested parties including but not limited to your mom, significant other, sister, coworker, priest, dentist, babysitter, or any famous writing people you may know.  Thanks.  J
